So it's been a while since I've updated. A couple years, in fact! Here's a quick rundown of events:
- I moved
- Recorded an EP
- Started a webcomic
- Took an etching class
- Moved again
- Moved again again
- And then most recently I took a week-long comics course.
I think the most engaging creative endeavor I've done in the recent years is etching. Printmaking is a whole lot of fun, and it's nice to get wrapped up in the process as much as the image on the matrix, or even more so. I've experimented with lino cuts as well, at first using craft paint and a car sponge, and then slowly working up to a brayer and baron and a real setup. It's very exciting stuff.
In the comics world, a few years ago I started my first webcomic, Intergalactic Hockey League. It's about a left winger young adult named Oliver Osbourne who is struggling with mental health issues, and finds an outlet and a community in ice hockey. However the team he's on is terrible and faces exclusion from the C-league, so to keep playing he'll need to get his act together and motivate his teammates. It's a blast to write it, and I have print copies of all 3 chapters thus far if anyone's interested, free of charge if you ask as with all publications listed on this site.
That's all I have to talk about for now, but hopefully I will keep things up-to-date here in the future. For now, stay safe and stay home!
